Conduct of Persons Within the Cemetery
- The Cemetery ground shall be open from 8:00 a.m. to sunset (8:00 p.m. during summer months).
- Admission to the Cemetery shall be only through the main entrance located adjacent to the office at the intersection of Woodlawn Avenue and Spencerville Road.
- Persons having entered the Cemetery grounds, as they move about, shall use only established drives, roads, walks or paths, except when it is necessary to cross lawn areas in order to reach a given lot.
- The Cemetery shall be held harmless for any injury sustained by any person while visiting the Cemetery.
- Children under b18 years of age may be admitted to the Cemetery only when accompanied by an adult who shall be held responsible for the child’s actions.
- The consumption of all food and drink by visitors is prohibited within the Cemetery.
- The scattering or leaving of discarded flowers, paper, cans, jars, bottles, baskets or any other object or material whatsoever of a similar nature upon lots, roadways or grounds is prohibited.
- The gathering of flowers, either wild or cultivated, or the breaking or removal of any part of any tree, shrub or plant, either wild or cultivated, within the cemetery is prohibited.
- Except when used as a part of a military funeral service, the discharge of firearms within the Cemetery is prohibited.
- Dogs, either free or on leash, shall be excluded from the Cemetery.
- All signs, notices and advertisements, except those posted by the Cemetery, are prohibited within the Cemetery grounds.
- Any person who disturbs the quiet and tranquility of the Cemetery by causing unnecessarily loud noise or who participates in the disturbance or who willfully violates rules adopted for the purpose of maintaining an atmosphere of reverence, dignity and decorum within the Cemetery shall summarily be expelled from the Cemetery.
- Whether or not disruptive acts are defined within these regulations, all who enter Woodlawn Cemetery are urged to be aware that such acts might interfere with the right of others also present in the Cemetery who have undergone bereavement, and who want only to spend a quiet, reflective moment at the grave of a loved one or friend.
- All unauthorized persons are prohibited from sitting, lounging or congregating within the grounds of the Cemetery.
